About

Hello! I am Y. Colleagues and friends often call me Chloe.

I’m Vietnamese and initially majored in Economics and Finance, but somehow, I found myself working in the Human Resources field as a Recruiter Assistant in my first job. This unexpected turn of events got me thinking: Why did my career take this path? What shapes our careers? And how do others make their career choices?

These questions sparked my interest in careers, career development, and organizational behavior—so much so that I am now a doctoral researcher, teacher, and thesis supervisor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

My research focuses on understanding sustainable careers, more specifically examining what makes a career more sustainable from a variety of theoretical perspectives.

In addition to research, I teach a range of courses related to Human Resource Management. I have taught over 200 postgraduate and undergraduate students.

I also serve as a research supervisor, providing guidance and feedback to help students develop their research projects.

When I’m not working, you can find me reading novels or enjoying quality time with my family.
